Job Summary WELLNESS & PREVENTION SPECIALIST Location: Downtown Houston Area Pay: $24.00 per hour (weekly pay) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (weekends as needed) Employment Type: Temp‑to‑Hire Responsibilities Provide evidence‑based tobacco/vaping prevention and cessation education to individuals and groups. Educate community members on asthma awareness and control strategies. Assist with creating program materials, presentations, and training content. Participate in outreach activities, community events, and health fairs. Build relationships with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations. Track participant information, program data, and outreach metrics. Maintain accurate documentation and reports. Stay informed on current public health trends, research, and best practices. Support additional program activities and community initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or a related field required. Minimum of 1 year of experience in community engagement, public health programs, or related work. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Valid Texas Driver’s License required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships in diverse community settings. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality. Comfortable working with the public and collaborating with team members. Must be able to use a personal mobile device for multi‑factor authentication access. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during outreach events.
