Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Schedule options of 3x12 or 4x12 available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-volume post-surgical unit serving urology and GYN surgical populations
• Manage a patient assignment within a typical 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms including sinus rhythms, heart blocks, lethal rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, and pacing
• Participate in every-other-weekend rotations, floating as needed, and holiday coverage within the contract period
• Document accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of recent, relevant Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN experience
• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license must be in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required — no exceptions
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• Must pass a telemetry/EKG competency test with a score of 80% or higher prior to start (one attempt; no remediation available)
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; driver's license required for address verification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience caring for post-surgical patient populations, including urology and GYN
• Comfort and confidence working in high-acuity, high-volume unit environments
