Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Metro Detroit

Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager for a manufacturing company located in Metro Detroit. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering leader with a strong automotive manufacturing background and experience leading manufacturing/process engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting general assembly, welded assembly, automotive interiors, or seating systems and a track record of driving continuous improvement, managing capital projects, and developing engineering teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required
5+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
Previous engineering leadership or management experience
Experience managing a team of approximately 5–10 engineers and technicians
Strong background in manufacturing/process engineering and continuous improvement
Experience with general assembly and/or welded assembly processes
Automotive seating or interior systems experience preferred
Experience managing manufacturing capital projects
PLEX experience is a plus
Knowledge of APQP, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 preferred

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing and Process Engineers and Technicians
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant
Manage capital equipment and manufacturing line projects within established timelines and budgets
Serve as a subject matter expert for final assembly processes, including safety traceability, poka-yokes, and end-of-line testing
Lead Manufacturing Engineering APQP activities supporting Product Development Plan gates and launch events
Own and maintain Manufacturing Engineering BOS processes, procedures, work instructions, standards, and documentation
Develop and revise departmental documentation to support manufacturing and engineering requirements
Support ongoing compliance with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 14001:2015 standards
Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to improve manufacturing performance
