RN Infusion Nurse - Vancouver

Job Description Summary An Infusion Nurse II is a licensed registered nurse who coordinates and provides intermediate direct patient care to patients in the home or in an alternate infusion suite, ensuring patient safety, continuity, and compliance under a physician’s plan of care. Job Responsibilities Initiate, develop, and implement intermediate nursing plan of care treatments, evaluating patient progress toward goals. Assess patient needs, conduct physical assessments during each visit, and re-evaluate status based on response and supplemental physician orders. Obtain and clarify physician orders, promptly inform physicians of significant changes, and provide written summaries. Provide training and mentorship to Infusion Nurse I’s to ensure patient safety and compliance. Educate patients and families/caregivers using a patient‑centered approach to achieve independence with prescribed therapy. Communicate effectively with clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families to facilitate continuity of care; prepare real‑time documentation and submit to the nursing department for billing compliance. Coordinate discharge planning and prepare discharge summaries, providing thorough reports of care needs, progress, and goals. Demonstrate compliance with agency operations, policies, professional standards, and regulatory guidelines. Maximize work efficiency through technology to validate orders, communicate patient care, and follow the visit schedule. Respond promptly to patient requests and initiate emergency procedures as necessary. Accept accountability for own practice through ethical and professional conduct, following established programs and policies. Observe legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding patient and proprietary information, including HIPAA. Explain Option Care’s scope of services and financial obligations to patients. Complete required training modules, in‑services, and continuing education to maintain competency and licensure. Provide oversight and coordination of paraprofessionals; act as supervisor in the absence of the Supervisor or Nurse Manager when applicable. Participate in multidisciplinary team conferences and mentor other nurses as assigned. Participate in nursing department on‑call responsibilities. Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor. If Applicable Insert PICC/Midlines per physician order. Troubleshoot/declot obstructed central line catheters. Monitor PICC/Midline and educate on prevention of line infection and routine care. Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities. Basic Education And/or Experience Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice. Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience. Current CPR certification required. Basic Qualifications Demonstrated competency in patient care standards required for safe delivery of services and infusion skill sets applicable to agency programs and service needs. Licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the state of practice; access to a vehicle for business travel with proof of liability insurance. Basic knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications with the ability to self‑evaluate for annual appraisal and set professional growth goals with the nurse manager; apply knowledge in the effective use of nursing technology tools to communicate and document care provided. Physical Demand Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with a maximum lifting of 75 pounds; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds frequently. Physical demands may involve walking, standing, crouching, kneeling, turning, pivoting, balancing, stooping, reaching overhead, grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying. Fine motor skills and visual acuity required. Likelihood of occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, and other potentially infectious materials; exposure to hazardous substances, needles, sharps, fumes, chemicals, and adverse weather elements. Safety requirements include closed‑toe shoes, facemask, goggles, gown and/or gloves, and a functioning communication device for routine and emergency situations. Travel Requirements Willing to travel up to 100% of the time for business purposes. Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs) Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred. 1–2 years of previous infusion nursing experience preferred. Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Pay Range is $40.78–$67.97.
