About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel with a focus on Product and Regulatory matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating legal and regulatory judgment into the company's product and fintech work, particularly in the areas of SaaS and fintech products. This role demands a hands-on approach, working closely with product and engineering teams to address complex issues such as money transmission, e-money, embedded finance, and cross-border operating decisions. The ideal candidate will have a significant in-house legal background in technology, SaaS, or fintech, with a strong emphasis on product development, and a proven track record of managing legal and regulatory aspects of product design, launch, and scaling. Key responsibilities for the Associate General Counsel include setting the legal and regulatory standards for product development, providing senior legal guidance on a range of financial and regulatory matters, and leading a team of specialist counsel and paralegals. The role requires a deep understanding of financial crime regulations, including AML, BSA, KYC, and KYB, and experience in managing legal support that keeps pace with the product development lifecycle. The candidate should be adept at using AI to enhance legal processes and demonstrate a proactive, commercial approach to legal risk management. People leadership experience and a background in a dynamic, scaling environment are highly valued, as is the ability to act as a true product counsel and not just a commercial one.
