Transportation Associate

Transportation Associates will perform trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities, conduct yard audits, complete applicable driver training programs, and operate multiple vehicle types based on business need to support Amazon’s transportation network. Responsibilities Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations, enforcing safety measures and policies to all who operate vehicles on behalf of Amazon and those who enter the yard. Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers to ensure all trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects. Operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‑public roads or within the yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations. Learn and comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies regarding size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, incident reporting, break periods, etc. Complete driver vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of maintenance or delivery issues. Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks in compliance with Amazon policy and federal and state regulations, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive according to weather/road conditions. Support the business as needed by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby site locations. Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment such as pallet jacks. Qualifications Hold a valid and active driver’s license. High school or equivalent diploma. Be 21 years of age or older, with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines in English. Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach, and ascend/descend stairs. Work 40 hours per week, with overtime as required, and a flexible schedule that may include weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences. A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and completion of a Career Choice Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Course is preferred. The starting pay for this position includes the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential, which applies based on the shift you select.
