Beemac Logistics is seeking a commercially driven Vice President of Specialized Logistics to lead and expand our heavy haul, over dimensional, overweight, project, and high value freight business. This is a player coach role reporting to the CEO directly. The VP sells and prices specialized freight directly, supports our sales reps on their own opportunities, and takes control of each shipment from booking through delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning and execution of heavy haul, over dimensional, overweight, project, and high value freight, with direct oversight of complex and high-risk shipments from planning through delivery.

• Review dimensions, weight, equipment, routing, permits, and escorts before booking, and stay closely involved once a shipment is moving.

• Act as the primary specialized logistics resource and liaison for sales reps, supporting customer calls, technical questions, and pricing, and sell specialized freight directly.

• Develop accurate, competitive quotes by evaluating carrier rates, equipment, permits, escorts, and routing costs, and approve pricing and carrier selection on high value loads.

• Build and manage relationships with qualified heavy haul carriers, permitting services, escort providers, and other specialized vendors.

• Oversee high value freight risk controls, including carrier qualification, insurance, tracking, security, and escalation procedures.

• Develop specialized freight standard operating procedures, KPIs, and training that improve service and scalability.

• Coach and support sales reps on qualifying specialized freight and pricing it correctly and partner with executive leadership to grow the specialized logistics business.

• Based in our Beaver, Pennsylvania office. Travel is expected to visit customer sites and carrier meetings.

Qualifications:

• Significant hands-on experience in heavy haul, over dimensional, overweight, or project freight, in brokerage, trucking, or logistics.

• Demonstrated experience coordinating over dimensional and overweight shipments, including equipment, permits, routing, and escorts.

• Proven ability to price complex freight, evaluate carrier costs, and negotiate rates.

• Experience selling, coaching, or supporting others in a sales or account management role.

• An existing book of business or established relationships in heavy haul or project freight.

• Exposure to high value industrial, construction, energy, machinery, or project cargo preferred.

• Familiarity with TMS platforms such as McLeod, tracking systems, and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship skills.

Compensation:

Base salary based on experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibility, plus commission and performance bonuses.
