Associate General Counsel, Product & Growth

HealthEquity is seeking an accomplished attorney to serve as Associate General Counsel, Product & Growth . This senior legal leader will drive the company’s legal strategy to support the compliant development and launch of new products, services, and strategic commercial partnerships across healthcare and financial services.

Reporting to executive leadership, the Associate General Counsel will provide strategic guidance throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance, intellectual property protection, and risk mitigation. The role requires navigating complex and evolving regulatory frameworks, translating new laws into actionable guidance, and partnering closely with business, technology, product, and marketing teams to enable HealthEquity’s growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising on legal and regulatory issues for consumer-facing products
• Negotiating agreements for new offerings and partnerships
• Embedding legal partnership into product development
• Overseeing intellectual property management
• Supporting process improvements to enhance agility in legal and business operations

The ideal candidate brings at least 10 years of experience advising on product development in regulated industries, with a strong background in both financial services and healthcare. Expertise in UDAP, ERISA welfare benefit plans, HSAs, GLBA, HIPAA, and data privacy is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to synthesize complex legal issues, provide practical risk management advice, and influence at all levels, including C-suite and board.
