This full-time, direct hire opportunity is ideal for a compassionate RN who is passionate about fostering wellness within a school community. With approximately 500 students, you’ll collaborate with educators and staff to promote a safe and healthy setting for all.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Illinois required
• Prior school nursing experience is highly valued, though dedicated clinical nurses looking to transition are encouraged to apply—please be prepared to discuss your motivation for moving into school nursing
• Strong assessment, communication, and advocacy skills
• Comfort in working independently as well as within a supportive multi-disciplinary team
• Willingness to commute daily to the Waukegan campus; ability to confirm commute feasibility is essential
• Commitment to supporting students’ physical and emotional well-being

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver day-to-day nursing care for students, including medication administration, first aid, and emergency response
• Develop and implement health care plans for students with chronic conditions
• Maintain and update health records in compliance with school, district, and state guidelines
• Serve as a health resource for students, staff, and families, promoting wellness and prevention
• Participate in crisis management planning and infection control measures
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure student safety and success
