Baker

Adesso Bakeshop is a growing bakery in Brooklyn making sourdough cookies, Italian amaretti, mochi brownies, and seasonal baked goods.

We are looking for an experienced Baker to join our part-time evening production team.

This is a hands-on production job. You will help weigh ingredients, scoop cookie dough, roll amaretti, make and portion mochi brownies, pack products, and keep the kitchen clean.

This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who has worked in a bakery, pastry kitchen, restaurant kitchen, or food production environment before.

This role is different from our Baking Assistant role. We are looking for someone who can take more ownership in the kitchen, work with less supervision, move quickly and cleanly, help catch mistakes, and support the flow of production.

Thursday and Friday evenings
Approx. 5:30pm – 9:30/10:30pm

More hours may be available as we grow.
You must be able to work these evening shifts every week.

• Weigh ingredients accurately using a scale
• Scoop cookie dough to exact weights
• Roll amaretti by hand
• Help make and portion mochi brownies
• Tray, label, wrap, and pack products
• Help pack for markets and online orders
• Take ownership of assigned production tasks from start to finish
• Work with less direct supervision once trained
• Help keep production moving on schedule
• Check product consistency, portioning, labels, and quality
• Support and guide Baking Assistants when needed
• Move trays, racks, and ingredients as needed
• Keep products neat and consistent
• Keep your work area clean and safe
• Wash dishes, sweep, mop, take out trash, and help close the kitchen
• Communicate clearly with the team
• Flag issues, mistakes, or quality concerns quickly

• 1–2 years of bakery, pastry, kitchen, or food production experience preferred
• Reliable and on time
• Fast, clean, and focused
• Good with details
• Comfortable using a scale
• Able to follow recipes and systems
• Comfortable doing repetitive production work
• Able to work with urgency without getting sloppy
• Able to take direction and also work independently once trained
• Comfortable helping less experienced team members when needed
• Able to stand for long periods
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly.
• Basic food safety knowledge
• NYC Food Handler’s License is a plus
• Able to communicate clearly in English
• Positive and easy to work with

$26/hour
W2 payroll
