Senior Accountant

Job Summary As an essential member of the accounting team, you will perform day‑to‑day accounting activities, including cash accounting, account reconciliations, and both financial and management reporting. You will prepare complex financial reports, develop policies and procedures, initiate process improvements, and maintain effective internal controls. The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and plays a key role in implementing and maintaining Brightline’s accounting methodologies, strategies, compliance, and other required processes, such as the development of controls and the implementation of accounting and finance‑related systems. Your Role Own key areas of the monthly financial accounting close processes, including preparing, recording journal entries and performing, reviewing account reconciliations Prepare variance analyses that identify key drivers for monthly fluxes and ensure costs are recognized and allocated to the right departments Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring proper eliminations and preparing analyses of changes in balances Ensure the integrity and timeliness of accounting information, including recognition in accordance with US GAAP Assist with audits, preparing PBC requests (e.g., roll forwards) and serving as a liaison to external auditors Upload transactions from sub‑ledgers and other systems (e.g., point‑of‑sale/inventory management and employee expense reporting) and reconcile data Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, including tie‑outs to supporting schedules and documentation Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting systems and business processes to increase efficiencies and shorten the closing cycle Collaborate across departments to support financial reporting and business initiatives Assist with special projects as requested Hold confidential and proprietary information in strict confidence Experience & Qualifications Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in a corporate accounting role, preferably in consumer products, transportation or hospitality. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Public and private experience preferred Current or recent experience managing monthly financial accounting close processes (e.g., prepaids and accruals) including: Preparing, recording journal entries Performing, reviewing account reconciliations Preparing variance analyses Experience working with auditors and preparing audit requests (e.g., roll forwards) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to work in a fast‑paced start‑up environment Highly ethical and can work cooperatively with other departments without compromising internal controls High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel Experience in data analytics and reporting Experience with NetSuite ERP preferred Brightline offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
