Testing Technician - SR OTHSAL

Job Description Summary Final inspection and testing of high voltage switch gear prototypes, including a variety of electronic, mechanical, electro‑mechanical, and electrical tests to ensure unit functions according to specifications and standards or to determine cause of unit failure. Essential Responsibilities Performs high voltage testing, such as 60Hz AC, impulse and chopped wave tests. Assists with the setup and testing process for temperature rise testing. Assists with the setup and testing process for mechanical endurance testing. Assists with the setup and testing process for extreme temperature testing of high‑voltage equipment. Performs mechanical adjustment operations on circuit breaker components, linkages, and operating mechanisms. Compares results with specifications, records test data, and prints test results. Performs electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including the replacement of defective wiring and electrical components, and mechanical repairs. Conferes with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems. Performs maintenance and repair procedures on electrical and mechanical test equipment, gas handling equipment, and test facilities. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Associates Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years related experience in quality control testing. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, technical specifications/standards and wiring schematics, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to management, customers, and suppliers. Must have the ability to use a computer and be familiar with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of basic mathematics. Ability to apply basic statistical skills/knowledge. Ability to communicate is necessary for interfacing with mechanical and electrical design personnel and to give direction to employees. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
