Charge RN

Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Medical ICU Charge RN, you will provide direct nursing care to patients with sepsis, DKA, post cardiac arrest, respiratory failure and various other medical conditions on a 36-bed unit configured to medical ICU. You will oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care adds value to our nursing team. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, aligning with department goals and objectives. You will provide oversight of the activities on the nursing unit during a shift, including serving as a resource to staff, directing patient flow, assuring appropriate utilization of resources, and overseeing the provision of quality care in a manner satisfying to patients. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You are an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. You should be comfortable holding tough conversations as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit. Mentors others in competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education. Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department. Evaluates care given by staff. Coaches to improve care. Ensures standard of care is maintained. Exhibits an understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult. Job Requirements Required: ADN, Diploma, or foreign equivalent Registered Nurse license in AZ or a compact state American Heart Association Basic Life Support Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 months Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty Previous Charge Nurse experience Previous experience with personal computers #J-18808-Ljbffr Chandler Regional Medical Center
