Questex is seeking a Business Development Manager for Healthcare & Life Sciences group. This is a remote position and is open to candidates located in the U.S.
Questex Healthcare & Life Sciences brings you the people, organizations and institutions that devote their efforts to research, development, technology transfer and commercialization.

You will be responsible for managing and developing a sales territory and working all phases of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing. In addition, we are looking for the Business Development Manager to participate in sales strategy and contribute ideas to develop new revenue opportunities and customer bases.
As our Business Development Manager, you’ll support Questex’s success by:
- Meets or exceeds forecasted sales (digital, marketing services, trade show/conference platforms).
- Satisfies the needs of clients using a consultative selling style while being personable, professional and accommodating in manner.
- Develops a thorough understanding of the market and culture in order to attract new customers/business.
- Performs extensive research on marketplace developing lists of new prospects and lists of existing accounts (tiered) for follow-up process.
- Confers with sales management and other sales staff to develop growth opportunities.
- Maintains strong industry credibility through visible attendance at trade shows and other product presentations, staying updated on new developments and technologies and communicating this information to both key existing accounts and potential new accounts.
- Identifies and/or maximizes the sales opportunity for assigned properties in assigned tier of customer categories and determines actions to be taken on certain tier accounts.
- Generates direct sales from cold calling, follow up calling and face-to-face meetings.
- Maintains and utilizes Salesforce database for all client contact and scheduling. Forecasts and reports revenue by maintaining sales pipelines within assigned territory.
Your Experience and Education Include:
- College Degree in a related field preferred.
- 4-6 years minimum sales experience in trade show/media environment.
- Excellent presentation, writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to be a strong and savvy negotiator
- A strong sense of organization with strict attention to detail
- Ability to listen, adapt, and think quickly on your feet

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50,000- $65,000. This role will have a commission component with a territory size of over 1 million. Salary offers are based on a broad scope of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
