Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

The primary responsibility of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is to provide direct physical therapy interventions, as planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist. In this role, you will ensure that the highest degree of quality care is provided to residents at all times.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
• Assure all treatment is delivered following an established plan of care.
• Provide clinical support and instructions to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Monitor patient response to treatment interventions.
• Complete required forms and documentation following company policies and state/federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education).
• Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Exhibit empathy and patience when working with patients.
• Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises.
