Under the general direction of EPI-CAL leadership, the Staff Psychologist 1 will apply psychological principles, theories, methods, and techniques in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with psychosis as part of the EPI-CAL Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) Center of Excellence (COE) for First Episode Psychosis (EP) program or affiliated programs supported by other funding sources. The incumbent will use the knowledge and skills of a clinical psychologist with prior training and experience in CSC and EP care to develop new and/or revise existing curriculum, toolkits, resources, and web materials; provide consultation to clinical teams; and support research or evaluation. The position will also provide individual and group consultation services and technical assistance. Beyond curriculum development, consultation services and technical assistance, this position will establish and maintain professional relationships with state and county contacts, external project collaborators, and advisory committee members. As lead or co-lead of a Training Pathway team or other project team, the position will work with leadership and project management to track the project work of designated team members and/or consultants, develop and manage work plans, and monitor assigned portions of the project budget. Finally, the incumbent will use psychological theories of research, evaluation and statistical analysis to support program level evaluation and reporting. Minimum Qualifications For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Completion of training requirements to be eligible for licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in California. Completion of Ph.D. or Psy.D in Clinical Psychology is required Minimum of one-year full-time experience providing direct services, including evidence-based clinical assessment and treatment, to youth with early psychosis ages 12-40 and their families as part of a Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) team is required. Proven experience with psychodiagnostic interviewing with youth ages 12-40 to determine diagnosis according to DSM-IV and DSM-V and experience with standardized clinical rating measures for assessment of serious mental illness (ie. KSADS, SCID-5, and Structured Interview of Prodromal Symptoms (SIPS)) is required. Proven experience writing clear and concise assessment reports for clinical purposes is required. Proven experience using evidence-based interventions for the treatment of youth with early psychosis ages 12-40 and their families (i.e. individual and group approaches based in CBT for psychosis, DBT, and/or ACT as well as family-oriented treatments such as Multifamily group and Functional Family Therapy) is required. Prior experience with trauma-focused treatments for youth is considered a strength. Proven experience with research or evaluation, including knowledge and experience using data analysis software such as SPSS, R or SAS to create and edit data, manage data sets in spreadsheet, perform mathematical tasks accurately using formulas, and create documents summarizing findings for various audiences. Experience leading a team, including project oversight, establishment and adjustment of priorities to meet deadlines, workplan development and monitoring, adherence to project scope and budget, and evaluation of completed work products according to defined objectives. Experience in facilitating meetings, workshops or trainings. Experience working effectively both independently and collaboratively with team members. Experience using MS Office Suite for Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse constituency of professionals and service users. Ability to design engaging and innovative learning experiences that capture the interest of participants and facilitate effective learning (formal curriculum writing experience not required). Preferred Qualifications Experience with public speaking is preferred Skill to assess clinician training and professional development needs. Ability to analyze policy and legislation proposed and implemented at federal, state and county levels of government; assess implications for various roles within the EPI-CAL CSC and other projects supported by various funding sources as appropriate. Knowledge of transfer of learning theories and practices. Bilingual language capacity – both oral and written - is strongly preferred. Spanish language capacity is strongly preferred. Prior experience with billing and documentation required by county mental health systems (e.g. Avatar, Smartcare) are strongly preferred.
