Total Loss Specialist

Responsibilities This position involves all aspects of the total loss process, from notification of the claim to final resolution. Tasks include canceling ancillary products, filing GAP with the appropriate provider, coordinating with insurance adjusters, and ensuring timely completion of the total loss procedure. Communicate with insurance carriers, GAP providers, and ancillary product services on claim status via phone, portal, and email. Manage third‑party total loss portals by entering claims, uploading required documents, and tracking updates. Gather and review documents to manually cancel ancillary products efficiently. File GAP timely with the correct provider. Coordinate with internal title teams and Carvana’s title team to provide processing timelines to carriers. Assist other departments with inquiries or escalations related to the total loss process. Document and route accounts through total loss queues as they progress. Prevent account aging by completing tasks promptly. Utilize approved databases, tools, and websites to support the overall process. Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Clear, concise professional written and verbal communication. Proficient typing skills. Excellent time management and organizational abilities. Research state‑specific title release requirements. Prioritize and multitask to meet performance objectives. Apply professional acumen to resolve escalated issues. Enforce compliance with FDCPA requirements. Knowledge of collection policies, skip tracing, and state repossession law. Self‑motivated with strong decision‑making capabilities. Detailed‑oriented and highly productive work style. Requirements High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Minimum 2 years in financial services, insurance, or claims. Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or related field may substitute for experience. Physical Requirements Remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Move about inside the office as needed. Operate a computer and office machinery requiring visual acuity and manual dexterity.
