As the Systems Administrator for the University Police, you will manage servers, desktop computing systems, and security infrastructure, ensuring reliable operation and robust security across the campus. Key Responsibilities Manage UNL Police servers, desktop computing systems, and security systems. Provide expert advice on security system configuration and design; administer processes and procedures for all systems. Deliver first‑tier technical assistance for desktop computing equipment, access control, and CCTV. Ensure compliance with security policies and maintain system documentation. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate new technologies. Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field plus two years of system administration, maintenance, and operation experience. Knowledge of current Microsoft Windows desktop and server products, Microsoft Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, and hardware/software troubleshooting. Customer‑service orientation and ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in computer science or related field. Experience with physical security systems (surveillance cameras, access control, alarms, etc.). Public safety systems or alarm central station knowledge. MCP, MCSA, A+, or Server+ certifications. Background and Screening Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required; subject to DOT‑approved pre‑employment and random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
