CBRN Support Specialist (TSS Leve II)

Summary This non‑supervisory position conducts advanced CBRN detection operations supporting federal mission partners, supports operational planning, and focuses on work execution under the guidance of the Federal Lead. The role coordinates with stakeholders, manages equipment, plans logistics, develops plans, teaches and trains equipment protocols, reports information, writes situational and after‑action reports, and follows up with government stakeholders. Personnel must support surge deployments, intelligence‑driven operations, National Special Security Events (NSSE), and steady‑state detection missions. Travel, extended hours, 24/7 shift work, weekends, holidays, and recall during contingency operations may be required. Job Description Conduct CBRN detection operations by coordinating with stakeholders, managing equipment, planning logistics, developing plans, teaching and training equipment protocols to stakeholders, reporting information as appropriate, notifying chain of command as appropriate, writing situational reports and after‑action reports, and following up with the stakeholder in post‑deployment communications. May be called to support PM directly when requested or function as Acting PM for periods no longer than 30 consecutive days. Manage and maintain file system for regional documentation to include record keeping, following file standards and protocols, and maintaining both electronic and paper files. Responsible for maintaining their equipment, tactics, techniques, and procedure standards by completing all training, including refresher training, in accordance with MDDP policies. Supports fleet management by documenting, tracking, submitting, and filing all necessary fleet vehicle information in accordance with MDDP, CWMD, and DHS policies. Reports will be submitted by the 7th of each month covering the entirety of the previous month. Adheres to professional standards and codes of conduct set forth by MDDP, CWMD, and DHS including dress code, all forms of communication standards, social media regulations, and other policies as required. Perform responsibilities of LevelI TSS with federal oversight as needed. Presents clear, concise, and accurate information on the Mobile Detection Deployment Program and its capabilities to a variety of stakeholders and group sizes. Professionally conducts training on and answers questions on policies, procedures, protocols, and equipment of the program to a variety of stakeholders and group sizes. Work for this position will be located at one of the following sites: Fort Dix, NJ Herndon, VA Indianapolis, IN Portland, OR Washington, DC This position supports travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites throughout the 54 US States and Territories. Qualifications Preference is given to individuals with advanced training and experience on an MDDP team, any National Guard CBRN Response Enterprise (CRE) elements including the Civil Support Team (CST), CBRNE Enhanced Response Force Package (CERFP), and Homeland Response Forces (HRF) current/retiring Coast Guard Strike Team, Army Tech Escort or Special Forces CRD, or other DOD/DHS/DOJ special CBRNE team members. Knowledgeable in using representative radiation/nuclear (R/N) detection equipment: Personal Radiation Detectors (PRD)—spectroscopic and non‑spectroscopic; Human Portable Radiation Detection Backpacks; Radiological Isotope Identification Devices; Mobile Radiation Detection System such as RSI‑701; Auxiliary Equipment: Radios, radioactive material sources. Active Secret Security Clearance. CBRN subject matter expert with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in operational planning and coordination of detection and preventative activities. Commercial Driver’s License ClassB (CDLB) or ability to obtain within 3 months following contract award. 5+ years CBRN experience in the operational planning and coordination of detection and preventative activities. 5 years’ hands‑on equipment experience including primary and secondary screening devices, spectroscopic devices, and chemical identification equipment using FTIR and Raman technologies. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Excellent leadership, public speaking, and presentation skills; strong verbal and written communication. National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command Structure (ICS) certifications (e.g., ICS100,200,700). Valid primary and secondary screener preventative certifications. At least one basic radiation fundamental training program certification. Excellent decision‑making and critical‑thinking skills. Ability to operate in a high‑paced environment with deadlines. Ability to travel over 50% during the year.
