External Wholesaler – Alternatives Distribution About the Opportunity A leading global investment management firm is seeking an External Wholesaler to support the continued growth of its alternatives platform across Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. This individual will be responsible for driving sales and relationship management efforts with financial advisors across wirehouses, regional and independent broker-dealers, RIAs, and large wealth management platforms. The role focuses on distributing alternative investment solutions across private equity, private credit, hedge fund, and broader public/private market strategies to both prospective and existing advisor relationships. This is a highly visible opportunity for a motivated sales professional who thrives in a consultative, relationship-driven environment and enjoys partnering with sophisticated financial advisors on portfolio construction and alternatives education. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the wealth distribution landscape, asset management industry, and alternative investments marketplace, along with a proven ability to grow and manage a large territory effectively. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Territory Management Develop and grow advisor relationships across Northern California and the Pacific Northwest territory Drive sales and distribution efforts for alternative investment and broader investment management solutions Partner with financial advisors across wirehouses, RIAs, independent broker-dealers, and regional platforms Execute strategic territory management plans to maximize advisor engagement and sales activity Conduct prospecting efforts, advisor meetings, portfolio discussions, and investment reviews Deliver compelling presentations on investment strategies, portfolio positioning, and alternatives solutions Advisor Relationship Management Serve as a consultative resource to financial advisors regarding alternative investments and portfolio construction Build long‑term relationships with advisors, home offices, and key distribution partners Collaborate internally with investment specialists, leadership, and distribution teams to support advisor needs Participate in regional and national meetings, conferences, and client events Maintain strong visibility within the territory through regular travel and in‑person advisor engagement Market & Product Expertise Maintain deep knowledge of private equity, private credit, hedge funds, and broader alternatives strategies Stay informed on industry trends, competitive positioning, and advisor demand within the wealth channel Utilize CRM systems and reporting tools to manage pipeline activity and territory coverage effectively Qualifications 7–10+ years of successful external wholesaling or business development experience within asset management or alternative investments Strong experience working with financial advisors, wirehouses, RIAs, and broker‑dealer platforms Proven knowledge of alternative investments and wealth management distribution channels Demonstrated success managing large geographic territories and driving sales growth Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills Entrepreneurial mindset with strong collaboration and organizational abilities Series 7 & 63 licenses required Proficiency with Salesforce, Excel, and Outlook CFA or CAIA designation preferred but not required Base salary range of $150,000 – $220,000 depending on experience On‑target earnings (OTE) opportunity of approximately $300,000 – $500,000+ Opportunity to join a collaborative, growth‑oriented investment management platform Exposure to sophisticated investment strategies and advisor relationships across the alternatives landscape #J-18808-Ljbffr
