Pediatric ICU Nurse

Job Summary and Qualifications As the nation’s largest private employer of Registered Nurses, TriStar Centennial Medical Center seeks a Pediatric ICU Nurse to provide direct patient care in a high‑quality, therapeutic environment. Responsibilities Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilize therapeutic communication and maintain a safe therapeutic environment. Identify nursing problems related to the individual patient needs. Plan individualized patient care using an interdisciplinary approach. Participate in performance improvement activities. Coordinate care and support the hospital’s mission and vision. Act as charge nurse when required, managing day‑to‑day activities, staff assignments, and serving as a clinical resource. Monitor, record, and report patient symptoms or changes while maintaining accurate, detailed records. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests; assess patient condition. Modify patient treatment plans based on responses and conditions. Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans. Monitor all aspects of patient care in a collaborative multidisciplinary setting. Instruct patients, families, or groups on patient care, disease processes, and discharge instructions. Qualifications RN licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state. Current BLS certification. PALS certification required within six months of employment. Minimum one year of RN experience. Pediatric ICU, Adult ICU, or Pediatric experience highly preferred.
