DVA Consulting is seeking an experienced Material Supervisor for a well-established manufacturing operation in Tempe, AZ . This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing warehouse material movement, inventory control, receiving, and the employees responsible for supporting those functions.

The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment , a strong understanding of inventory control, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced production operation. We are looking for someone who can identify problems, understand cause and effect, resolve inventory issues, and continuously improve warehouse and material-flow processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise receiving, material handlers, forklift operators, inventory coordinators, and material pullers .
• Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory movement and warehouse locations .
• Ensure materials are received, moved, stored, and recorded accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate inventory records within the company's ERP system .
• Oversee the cycle counting process and investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Analyze daily inventory anomalies and take corrective action to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Resolve and communicate inventory shortages and discrepancies.
• Work closely with Production Control, Supply Chain, Operations, and other Materials functions .
• Ensure material transactions are completed as inventory movements occur.
• Ensure received material is properly stored in a timely manner.
• Monitor outside-service parts and help ensure they are processed within required lead times.
• Ensure material carts are completed on time and missing components are treated as a priority.
• Recommend and implement improvements to inventory-control and material-handling processes.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and 5S-compliant warehouse environment.
• Track and update department KPIs as required.
• Escalate supplier, subcontractor, inventory, or internal issues when necessary to minimize impact on production.
• Coach and develop team members while maintaining accountability for performance, safety, quality, and productivity.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with inventory control and warehouse material movement .
• Experience working with an ERP/MRP system ; SYSPRO experience is a plus.
• Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation.
• Strong understanding of receiving, material handling, inventory locations, and production material requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work effectively with Production, Operations, Supply Chain, and warehouse personnel.
• Positive, resilient leadership style with the ability to handle the day-to-day challenges of a manufacturing operation.

Work Environment

This position works in both warehouse and office environments and requires adherence to applicable safety and security procedures. Appropriate safety eyewear and footwear may be required when entering manufacturing or production areas.

The position may also require some physical effort related to handling materials, boxes, or equipment.
