Summary

The Lead Cabinet Engineer is a key member of their management team, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. This position holds full management authority over the project management team - including hiring, performance reviews, and personnel decisions - and is responsible for coordinating all aspects of project detailing from initial design through production release. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in cabinet engineering and CNC operations with the leadership skills to drive a high--performing team. Serving as a member of the company management team and will be report directly to the Director of Operations. Must be able to work on-site full-time at our TX facility.

Responsibilities

-Collaborate closely with design, production and installation teams to ensure projects meet client specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.

-Fully manage the project management team, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

-Only approximately 15% 20% of the role will involve hands-on engineering work, while the rest is oversite and further management.

-Oversee CNC programming and operations, including writing and editing G-code to optimize machine performance and output quality.

-Coordinate all aspects of project detailing, ensuring accurate and timely engineering packages from concept through shop release.

-Develop and approve detailed cabinet drawings, shop drawings, and cut lists using Cabinet Vision and CAD software.

-Maintain department-wide engineering standards, drawing templates, and documentation practices.

-Coordinate with purchasing on material and hardware specifications to support project schedules.

-Drive continuous improvement in workflow efficiency, software utilization, and team performance.

-Troubleshoot engineering, fit, and production issues, providing practical and timely solutions.

Requirements

-Associate's or bachelor's degree in drafting, engineering technology, industrial design, or a related field - or equivalent experience.

-7+ years of experience in cabinet engineering or architectural millwork with a focus on residential kitchen and bath.

-Extensive knowledge of CNC machine operation and programming, including hands-on G code writing and editing.

-Proven experience in a management or supervisory role with direct authority over personnel decisions.

-Previous residential custom cabinetry engineering experience within a manufacturing atmosphere.

-Proficiency in CAD software for shop drawings and detail production.

-Ability to write, understand and work with UCS.

-Advanced proficiency in Cabinet Vision.
