ATTI Certified Quality Control Technician- Solterra Materials

Benefits Competitive Weekly Pay Paid Time Off 401(k) Employer Match Tuition Reimbursement Comprehensive Health Benefits (Health, Dental, Vision) Life/Disability Insurance Position Purpose The Quality Control Technician is responsible for sampling and testing raw materials incorporated into asphalt mixtures and end‑product asphalt mixtures during daily production. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform all duties in accordance with Solterra Materials Core Values. Advocate safety and follow safety policies and procedures. Conduct all testing in accordance with Solterra Materials Quality Control Standard Operating Procedure. Field sample asphalt mixtures from job sites. Sample and test stockpiled aggregate materials for mix designs, mix design verification, and crusher control. Field and plant sample asphaltic concrete materials and perform tests for compliance with project specifications. Assist with 3rd‑party sampling at plant sites. Maintain a clean and orderly working environment in and around Solterra lab locations. Operate and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate and representative test results. Document, file, and share test results. Report material deficiencies to Product Quality Supervisor and plant personnel as necessary. Obtain and maintain required certifications (ATTI). Perform any other duties assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Competencies Collaboration, communication proficiency, customer/client focus. Safety Position is safety sensitive; subject to drug and alcohol policy and OSHA regulations. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Physical Demands and Work Environment Field and laboratory work including exposure to chemicals, vapors, pollutants, viruses, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, dust/debris. Standing for extended periods. Lift up to 50 lbs. Work outdoors in extremely hot and cold temperatures. Position Type / Expected Hours Full‑time; flexible hours and locations required. Approximately 5 hours of overtime per week expected. Willing to work nights and weekends to meet business demands. Travel Occasional out‑of‑town travel may be required. Minimum Qualifications: Education and Work Experience High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. Five (5) or more years of construction materials transportation experience. Operating knowledge of transportation software programs. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Professional communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing). Handling stressful situations with emotional intelligence. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong math and problem‑solving skills. Ability to multi‑task and manage competing deadlines. Certifications, Licenses & Registrations Valid driver’s license required. CDL license preferred and may be required for some departments/divisions.
