Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations, improve processes, and ensure safe, efficient manufacturing of assemblies and end products. This role will play a key part in fixture design, process optimization, ergonomics, and safety compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for the design and manufacturing of fixtures, machines, and tools.
• Conduct time studies and evaluate equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Improve ergonomics, mistake-proofing, and overall ease of assembly.
• Partner with EHS to ensure compliance with OSHA and safety standards.
• Assist with Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk mitigation.
• Investigate accidents and support implementation of corrective actions.
• Conduct plant safety audits and recommend process improvements.
• Review new equipment and machinery for safety and compliance standards.
• Monitor environmental conditions (noise, dust, fumes, etc.) and ensure safe exposure levels.
• Support ISO 14001 and quality/environmental management systems.
• Collaborate with Quality to ensure proper in-process inspection methods.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in automotive or assembly environments
• Knowledge of ergonomics, safety standards, and OSHA regulations
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and standard computer applications (Excel, Word, databases)
• Experience with FMEA, process improvement, and time studies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, and safety teams
