Build your career with one of San Diego’s leading estate planning, trust and probate firms. Brierton, Jones & Jones, LLP is seeking an experienced Trust Administration Paralegal to join our growing team.

For more than 30 years, our firm has focused exclusively on probate, trust, estate, and conservatorship matters. We are one of the few firms in the region dedicated exclusively to this area of law, allowing us to provide focused expertise, practical guidance, and exceptional service.

We are looking for an experienced paralegal who understands the trust administration process and is ready to take an active role in moving matters forward from commencement through completion. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple trust administrations while working closely with attorneys and other members of our legal team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience
  • Experience in probate, estate planning, and trust administration is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting and filing of documents related to trust/probate administration
  • Working knowledge of Probate Code, Local, and State Rules of Court
  • Experience coordinating with financial institutions, accountants, appraisers, and other professionals involved in trust administrations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to independently manage multiple matters, priorities, and deadlines
  • Professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and staff
  • Strong computer skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, and Adobe; ability to quickly learn and adapt to legal software and office technology

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with estate planning and trust administration matters from commencement through completion
  • Draft and file pleadings and other documents
  • Assist with the collection, organization, and valuation of trust assets
  • Obtain and organize financial records, account statements, asset information, and other documentation
  • Coordinate with financial institutions, accountants, appraisers, and other third-party professionals as needed
  • Assist with asset transfers, distributions, and related documentation
  • Prepare accountings related to trust matters
  • Track deadlines, outstanding items, and required follow-up throughout the administration
  • Coordinate execution, notarization, recording, and delivery of documents as needed
  • Maintain organized and accurate files and records
  • Maintain accurate information in the firm’s case management system
