TEAM LEADER (CULINARY) (FULL TIME)

• We are hiring immediately for a full time CULINARY TEAM LEADER position.

• Location : Harbor UCLA Medical Center - 1000 West Carson Street, Torrance, CA 90502. Note: online applications accepted only .

• Schedule : Full time schedule; flexible. Days and hours may vary; some evenings and weekends are required. More details upon interview.

• Requirement : Previous culinary or large batch cooking experience required. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.

• Conduct routine checks of storage areas to maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with standards.Perform basic inventory tasks, including monitoring stock and communicating shortages.Arrange coverage for cook call-offs or step in to fill shifts when necessary.

• Monitor completion of all required food safety, temperature, and production logs.Support production staff by providing guidance, training, and hands-on assistance as needed.Conduct routine checks of storage areas to maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with standards.

• Uphold sanitation, safety, and quality standards in all areas of food preparation and storage.Work closely with Management to ensure smooth communication and consistent workflow.

Job Summary

Summary: Assists the Manager on Duty with coordinating production, safety and customer service by assigning, delegating and managing the duties of all staff within the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items while adhering to company standards for presentation, sanitation and safety while meeting HACCP, OSHA guidelines; ensures proper portion control.

• Oversees work procedures and expedites workflow to ensure timely, efficient meal service to all service areas.

• Directs and participates in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility and associates in accordance with both company standards and government regulations.

• Oversees the productivity and breaks of associates; communicates performance issues to management.

• Participates in the onboarding and training of other associates; may conduct pre-service meetings.

• Responds to customer needs and requests; resolves customer concerns.

• Assists in menu planning and ordering procedures using appropriate company programs and initiatives.

• May be responsible for proper cash handling and completion of required daily, weekly and monthly reports, including inventory, cash and production records.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
