Senior Accountant

Vaco has partnered with an exciting company to hire a Senior Accountant in Phoenix, AZ! This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of key accounting functions while partnering closely with finance leadership in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The role is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys technical accounting, process improvement, and contributing to a high-performing team. Senior Accountant $90,000-$110,000 base salary + bonus (depending on experience) Phoenix, AZ (5 days in office) Perks and Opportunities: Senior-level accounting role with meaningful ownership across fixed assets, lease accounting, commissions, bonus accruals, close support, reconciliations, audits, and process improvement Opportunity to work directly with Accounting & Finance leadership and, at times, executives Good work-life balance with a fast-paced, productive environment Responsibilities include: Manage the fixed asset subledger and support accurate fixed asset accounting Administer lease accounting in compliance with ASC 842 Calculate and record commission and bonus accruals Prepare and post monthly journal entries Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency Partner with accounting and finance leadership on additional accounting duties and special projects as needed Requirements: 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience (Required) Public accounting experience (Preferred) Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required) Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles (Required) Experience with fixed asset accounting, lease accounting/ASC 842, commissions, and/or bonus calculations (Required) Experience working with accounting systems and proficient in Excel functionality (Required) Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage competing deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
