The MLS participates in the educational and professional development of laboratory personnel, new employees and students and may participate in the performance of routine administrative and non-routine technical functions. Cross-training in the Core Lab is required.Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Technician Position RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree from an accredited program in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology. Or in lieu of:Certified through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) with a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science.An Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with a minimum of two years of applicable experience.Required License/CertificationAmerican Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification preferred.ExperiencePrevious laboratory experience preferred.Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Work ScheduleThe Laboratory is staffed seven days a week, twenty-four hours per day.Personnel may be assigned to work mostly one shift or may have a rotational schedule consisting of duty on day, evening and night shifts.
