Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining and supporting automated racking systems that store batteries for use in production and dry aging rooms at a large manufacturing facility. Night shift follows a rotating pattern of three days on, four off, then four on and three off, with 12-hour shifts. Workweeks often range from 50 to 60 hours, with overtime paid at time and a half. The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, requiring adherence to facility procedures and appropriate industrial attire suitable for working around machinery and electrical systems.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Maintain and support automated racking systems used for battery storage and dry aging processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Assist with powering up, turning on, and commissioning equipment in coordination with the tool installation team.
- Calibrate and recalibrate electromechanical equipment to meet operational specifications and performance standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues on production and storage equipment.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to perform maintenance, repairs, and adjustments.
- Use test equipment and tools to identify faults, verify repairs, and ensure systems operate safely and reliably.
- Perform electrical repairs and component replacements on machines and related systems as needed.
- Apply debugging techniques to resolve system errors, software-related issues, and control problems in coordination with DAS and Linux-based systems.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, calibrations, and system changes accurately for reporting and traceability.
- Use Microsoft Office applications, including pivot charts, to create reports, track performance data, and communicate findings.
- Collaborate closely with team members and the tool install company to coordinate work, share information, and support project timelines.
- Demonstrate leadership by taking ownership of tasks, prioritizing work, and contributing to a safe and efficient operation.
- Follow safety guidelines and best practices, including OSHA standards, while working around high-voltage and mechanical equipment.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, proposing solutions, and helping implement corrective actions.
- Strong electromechanical aptitude, with the ability to work confidently on both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and recalibrating industrial or technical equipment.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in electrical repair, including working with circuits, components, and control systems.
- Experience using test equipment to diagnose and verify electrical and electronic system performance.
- Competence in debugging technical issues, including those related to DAS and Linux-based systems.
- Mechanical inclination demonstrated through prior professional or recreational work with car mechanics, robotics, or circuit boards.
- Strong electronics and troubleshooting skills in a production or technical environment.
- Ability to create and maintain accurate documentation and reports related to maintenance and calibration activities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to use pivot charts for data analysis and reporting.
- Effective teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners.
- Leadership capabilities, including taking initiative and managing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred; willingness to complete a 10-hour OSHA course after the contract starts if not already certified.
- Experience working with robotics, automotive systems, or circuit board projects, either professionally or as a serious hobby.
- Understanding in electromechanical systems within manufacturing, industrial automation, or similar environments.
- Comfort working with Linux operating systems and data acquisition systems (DAS).
- Ability to manage reporting and documentation requirements with attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with an emphasis on methodical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
