Environmental Health Scientist

***This job will close when we have received 50 applications which may be sooner than the closing date.*** WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Environmental Health Scientist, you will: Consult with cooperative agreement recipients, lead Technical Project Teams, and work with subject matter experts to address public health implications of exposures to environmental contaminants. Participate in the development of public health assessments, consultations, and/or related activities concerning potential or actual adverse health effects associated with exposure to chemicals and hazardous substances. Provide guidance on evaluating the public health impacts of human exposure to harmful substances in the environment. Participate in public meetings, workshops, webinars, and committee meetings that relate to hazardous substance exposure, environmental, or public health issues. Qualifications WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Education-Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. AND Minimum Qualifications : You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Evaluating environmental health issues using community health education. Evaluating and/or managing grants and/or cooperative agreements involving environmental health issues or other environmental hazards associated with hazardous waste sites and facilities.
