Hours: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM; a 7:45 AM start would be ideal
Compensation: $33–$45 per hour, W2 (on the books)

A private family in Scarsdale, NY, is seeking a dependable and highly organized Family Assistant / Housekeeper to help maintain the home and support the family’s daily routines. The ideal candidate is calm, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing household responsibilities with occasional childcare support.

This role is primarily focused on household upkeep and organization, with approximately 20–30% of the position involving child-related assistance.

Main Responsibilities:

• Maintain the home on a daily basis between scheduled deep cleanings
• Keep common areas, bedrooms, children’s rooms, and play spaces neat and organized
• Handle family laundry, including washing, folding, putting clothing away, and changing linens and towels
• Make beds and refresh bedrooms as needed
• Load, unload, and put away dishes and maintain general kitchen tidiness
• Assist with light meal preparation and prepare simple family meals
• Prepare and pack children’s lunches, school bags, and activity items
• Restock household supplies, snacks, toiletries, paper goods, and kitchen essentials
• Assist with household organization and light upkeep projects
• Run simple household errands as needed
• Drive children to and from school, activities, appointments, and playdates
• Assist with children’s routines, belongings, homework preparation, and activity transitions
• Provide occasional childcare support, including staying with one child while a parent attends an appointment
• Communicate with parents regarding household needs, completed tasks, and child-related updates
• Remain flexible and adjust priorities as the family’s needs change

Cooking Requirement:

Cooking is required. The candidate should be comfortable preparing simple, family-friendly meals and assisting with light meal preparation as needed.

Qualifications & Required Qualities:

• Previous experience as a Family Assistant, Housekeeper, Nanny, or in a similar private household role.
• Calm, professional, and discreet demeanor.
• Warm, nurturing, and comfortable around children.
• Proactive and able to recognize what needs to be done without constant direction.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Comfortable working independently.
• Respectful of privacy and household boundaries.
• Able to maintain a quiet, calm presence in the home.
• Strong judgment and common sense.
• Comfortable driving children as needed.
• Able to balance household duties with child-related responsibilities.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
