Join Our Team! Fair Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center is looking for a dependable and hardworking Laundry Aide to join our team. In this role, you will help ensure our residents have clean, fresh linens, clothing, towels, and other laundry items in a clean and comfortable nursing home environment.
What You'll Do
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing, linens, towels, and other laundry items.
- Follow proper laundry procedures to prevent damage, loss, or contamination.
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely.
- Properly measure and use laundry detergents and cleaning products.
- Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and sanitary.
- Inspect laundry equipment and report any problems or needed repairs.
- Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms and designated areas throughout the facility.
- Handle soiled laundry according to infection control and facility procedures.
- Label and organize resident clothing and personal items as needed.
- Assist with maintaining adequate supplies of clean linens throughout the facility.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and facility policies.
- Work cooperatively with nursing, housekeeping, and other departments.
- Assist with light housekeeping or other facility needs when necessary.
- Previous laundry, housekeeping, environmental services, or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
- Reliable and dependable with good attendance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
- Comfortable working around cleaning products and commercial laundry equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday.
- Compassionate and respectful when working in a nursing home environment.
