The Electrical Estimator reports directly to the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager. Responsibilities are focused on cost estimates, material, and labor requirements estimates to complete a project.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop cost estimates from the take-off stage to bid hand-offWork with ConEst Estimating SoftwareDevelop cost estimates for change ordersAnalyze material and labor requirements to complete a projectAttend pre-bid and scope review meetingsCompute and submit bidsRead & thoroughly understand blueprintsPerform fully on-screen electronic takeoffs and markupsMeet with engineers, customers, vendors, and Project ManagersVisually inspect project locations to determine the amount of labor and materials needed to do the workContact vendors for pricingAssess the costs of leasing equipmentMaintain the change order submissions/documents in an organized and standardized manner. Work with the project team to develop this standard.QualificationsREQUIRED:6-8 years of experience with a High School Diploma, 4-6 years of experience with an Associate degree, or 0-2 years of experience with a Bachelor's degreeStrong computer, Bluebeam, ConEst, and Microsoft Suite skillsKnowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Low Voltage Systems.Read and evaluate specifications and blueprints.Deal effectively with customers.Analyze risks involved with certain project types.Estimate large and small projects.Work calmly under deadlines and external pressure.Excellent math skills.Strong communication skills.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
