Intermediate Accountant

Our client, a growing contract manufacturer in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, partners with some of the world’s most recognizable brands — including major retailers and consumer companies such as Walmart and Procter & Gamble — to produce high-quality products across multiple categories. As the business continues to expand, they are seeking an Intermediate Accountant / Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations in a hands-on manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional early in their career who is looking to build strong operational accounting experience within the CPG and manufacturing space while growing into increased responsibility over time. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership to support financial processes, reconciliations, reporting, and general accounting functions in a collaborative and fast-paced setting. The environment is practical and entrepreneurial, requiring someone who is organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a less structured, more manual operation. Responsibilities: Support daily accounting and bookkeeping activities across the business Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Prepare and reconcile bank accounts, cash reconciliations, and general ledger accounts Process and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities Record journal entries, accruals, and other accounting transactions Compile and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and budget-to-actual tracking Generate and analyze reports through the ERP system to support operational and cost visibility Support external audit preparation and provide required documentation Assist with sales reporting, quarterly reporting, and year-end reporting requirements Monitor data accuracy and identify discrepancies for follow-up Support ongoing process improvements within the accounting function Work closely with leadership to gradually take ownership of additional accounting responsibilities over time Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred, ideally within a manufacturing or product-based environment Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits/credits and reconciliations Experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting Exposure to Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable functions Strong Excel skills, including working with formulas, spreadsheets, and data organization Manufacturing experience is considered an asset but is not required Experience working in a small-to-mid-sized company or less structured environment is preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage competing deadlines Strong communication skills and willingness to learn Key Traits for Success: Calm, practical, and team-oriented approach Strong work ethic with a willingness to roll up your sleeves Highly organized and detail-focused Adaptable and comfortable in a hands-on environment Eager to learn, develop, and grow within the organization Able to take initiative and gradually assume greater responsibility over time #J-18808-Ljbffr Red Rover Recruitment
