• Experience: Minimum 2 years PICU experience; cross-training and floating to Adult ICU or Med/Tele preferred

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality care to PICU patients with diagnoses such as MS, DKA, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, and post-op neurosurgical patients.
• Manage a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in a fast-paced, family-oriented environment.
• Titrate medications like pressors, insulin, heparin, and sedation agents.
• Perform invasive procedures including IV placements, CVL management, and wound care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and resource nurses.
• Document care accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR system.
• Float to Adult ICU or Med/Tele units if experienced and approved.

What You Need

• Required:
  • Valid RN license in Louisiana or ability to reciprocate
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (NRP preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years PICU experience
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Preferred:
  • Cross-training in Adult ICU or Med/Tele
  • Experience with titrating pressors, insulin, heparin, and sedation
  • Strong phlebotomy and invasive line skills
