Responsibilities Empower staff to improve the self‑help skills of individuals served. Assist in the development of personal plans. Build a top‑notch team through hiring and coaching staff. Create and maintain reports and records of individuals served. Hold direct support staff accountable for their job responsibilities and complete progressive disciplinary action when policy violations occur. Interview and hire direct support staff. Directly supervise staff on the assigned caseload within the department. Complete employee performance reviews within established timelines. Instruct and orient staff in their duties and provide continued in‑service training and practical instruction. Provide support and performance feedback to staff on the allocated caseload. Investigate reports of infractions and complaints, and take appropriate action or refer problems to the Assistant Director. Ensure employee schedules are set, submitted, and distributed in accordance with Arc policy. Monitor team overtime to ensure it aligns with company goals. Assume overall responsibility for delivery of services in accordance with DMH‑DD standards. Ensure all services are person‑centered, based on best‑practice standards in accordance with CARF. Ensure direct plan implementation for individuals served and monitor staff progress. Direct an interdisciplinary team in development and evaluation of Individualized Support Plans. Supervise and oversee basic health care for individuals, and administer medications per agency policies and State of Missouri Medication Aide Level I training. Review reports and related information and supervise changes in Individual Support Plans. Implement policies and procedures regarding training of all employees. Ensure proper documentation of each person served is completed in accordance with Arc policy and procedures. Ensure the program site environment is person‑centered, clean, free of health and safety concerns, and meets Arc quality assurance standards. Ensure timely reporting of critical incidents per Department of Mental Health and The Arc policies. Remove staff with expired training from working shifts and complete disciplinary actions per policy. Complete required weekly Quality Assurance checks of residential service sites and homes. Keep the Assistant Director informed through periodic reports and complete monthly Program Supervisor reports. Communicate necessary information to all subordinates in accordance with policy and procedures. Create a positive and professional work environment that promotes open communication and a collaborative atmosphere. Maintain effective working relationships with persons served, families, guardians, co‑workers, and professionals from other organizations. Maintain effective working relationships with all agency departments. Participate in the on‑call system rotation as required per the assigned department. Ensure accurate and timely billing for services rendered. Review and submit accurate ISL variance reports, budgets, and resolve billing issues. Qualifications Graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field. Alternatively, five years of relevant experience (two of which preferably in a management capacity) may substitute for a bachelor’s degree. One year of experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders, psychiatric disorders, and/or developmental disabilities. Experience working with Individualized Supported Living homes strongly preferred. Valid driver license and insured vehicle, with ability to obtain a Missouri ClassE license. Knowledge of applied behavior analysis, autism, developmental disabilities, and allied disciplines involved in care and habilitation. Considerable knowledge of principles of leadership, supervision, and training of staff members. Ability to plan, coordinate, and adapt a variety of habilitation program activities to meet the specialized needs of each participant. Ability to direct, coordinate, and supervise the work of professional and non‑professional employees. Ability to assign, direct, and review the work of subordinate staff involved in implementation of habilitation programs. Ability to collect and analyze information to make decisions concerning treatment for each individual resident. Ability to evaluate the progress of residents and the quality of habilitation programs. Ability to develop effective and practical Individual Habilitation Plans and related procedures. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants, subordinates, and other staff. Ability to act as a direct contact staff member and demonstrate necessary behavior for direct contact. Must qualify to serve as a Degreed Professional Manager in accordance with DMH‑DD waiver guidelines. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, compassion, effective conflict resolution, and excellent communication and follow‑up skills. Adaptable, able to work successfully in a fast‑paced environment with a strong work ethic, delegation, and solid time‑management skills. Open to feedback, possesses a growth mindset, and a willingness for learning opportunities. Benefits Competitive salary and excellent working environment.
