Senior Collections Analyst

The Sr. Collections Analyst will analyse policy premium balances and ensure timely collection of outstanding premiums. The role will involve working with brokers, insureds, underwriters and the finance team and managing a group of accounts. The position is located in Jersey City, NJ on a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote. Responsibilities Communicating outstanding premium balances to brokers Issuing cancellation notices for non-payment of premium Reconciling outstanding balances Troubleshooting discrepancies involving premium, commission and payment differences Requesting disbursements for return premium balances Resolving unapplied cash Directly collecting outstanding final audit balances from insureds Maintaining proper records of collection efforts Clarifying final audits and addressing disputes from insureds Preparing and submitting account documentation for collection agencies Compiling documentation for litigation support Assisting with special projects and system user acceptance testing Required Skills and Abilities Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Strong reconciliation, analytical and business problem‑solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Capacity to manage several tasks simultaneously Attention to detail Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance Five years of insurance experience, preferably in finance, collections or premium audit collections Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products Experience with Cognos, Power BI, Great Plains or Alteryx is a plus Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $61,500 – $79,900 per year (Jersey City, NJ). Total individual compensation (base salary, short‑ and long‑term incentives) will be based on multiple factors including location, scope of responsibilities, qualifications, talent availability and business needs. The role is incentive eligible. Total compensation may be modified in the future.
