Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Medical Surgical unit through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. Lead patient education and coordinate activities of ancillary staff to ensure high standards of professional nursing practice.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
• Monitor patient responses and document clinical observations accurately.
• Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care.
• Supervise and guide ancillary personnel to maintain quality care.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Iowa RN licensure.
• Hold current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association.
• Demonstrate excellent assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical setting preferred but not required.
• Maintain current immunizations and health requirements as per hospital policy.
