Job Description As the Materials Planner, your primary responsibility will be to plan, schedule, and manage the efficient raw material and finished goods strategy for your assigned manufacturing area. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and control systems related to production and inventory. Ensure material alignment and stocking strategy according to the Demand Plan. Work cross‑functionally with Supply Chain to effectively implement the S&OP process. Key Characteristics Team player, demonstrated proactive and self‑starter behavior Develop relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders Ability to effectively communicate information and data (verbal and written) Supports continuous improvement activities Comfortable analyzing and interpreting large data sets or spreadsheets Duties & Responsibilities Sets priorities independently to support manufacturing operations through activities such as planning to maintain adequate inventories, monitoring work in progress, managing finished goods inventories, and providing varied assistance to manufacturing and field service. Responsible for problem solving and resolution involving manufacturing process control, forecasting, scheduling conflicts/disruptions, raw material quality/shortages, finished goods stocking levels, delivery performance, obsolescence management, and similar systemic and special‑case problems. Leads continuous improvement projects in assigned production areas, working independently with limited supervision. Uses materials requirements planning (MRP) system to maintain proper supply/demand alignment by expediting, delaying, or canceling purchase orders directly with suppliers. Reports and improves key performance indicators for planning and manufacturing operations. Maintains appropriate documentation and records in the relevant systems. Supports new product introduction, change orders, and lifecycle management planning. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Uses advanced analytical/technical problem solving to develop new solutions to existing problems/procedures. Ability to analyze, interpret, and manipulate spreadsheets or large data sets. Experience with ERP systems and ERP planning modules, such as SAP/MRP. Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills. Strong regard for product quality and safety standards. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related major (or high school diploma with at least 8 years of planning or related supply chain work experience). At least 5 years of planning or related supply chain work experience. Preferred ASCM CPIM – Certified in Production and Inventory Management. 5% Travel. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. The offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $70,000–$90,000 USD.
