Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by supporting K-12 learners as a paraprofessional. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work on-site in a vibrant educational environment near Long Beach, CA, starting Monday, April 13th. Your expertise and compassion will help students succeed and flourish each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional, especially within school settings
- Comfortable supporting students exhibiting aggressive behaviors with empathy and professionalism
- Able to start promptly on Monday, 4/13
- Experience working with diverse K-12 student populations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Reliable, punctual, and organized
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to K-12 students within the classroom and throughout the school day
- Implement individualized strategies to support students’ academic goals and behavioral needs
- Work closely with teachers and school staff to foster a supportive, engaging learning atmosphere
- Use positive reinforcement techniques and de-escalation strategies when addressing challenging behaviors
- Accurately document student progress and share relevant observations with educational teams
- Help maintain a safe and structured classroom environment
