System And Database Administrator

Location: Houston, TX Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Work Model: Hybrid Duration: 6 Months Start: ASAP Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator / System Administrator to manage and maintain production and non-production database environments. The role will focus on database stability, security, performance, backup/recovery, troubleshooting, and support for modernization and migration initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design, create, enhance, and maintain databases and database environments. Perform database monitoring, performance tuning, optimization, and maintenance. Support database upgrades, migrations, data conversions, and modernization initiatives. Ensure data integrity, availability, security, and reliability. Manage database access, permissions, and security controls. Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities. Troubleshoot and resolve database and system-related issues. Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and management teams. Execute and monitor scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities. Manage storage capacity, indexing, and overall database efficiency. Required Skills Strong hands-on experience as a Database Administrator / System Administrator . Experience with database administration, monitoring, backup/recovery, and performance tuning. Experience supporting production and non-production environments. Knowledge of database security, access controls, and disaster recovery. Experience with database migration, upgrades, and modernization. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Experience supporting large enterprise or government environments. Experience with legacy-to-modern database migrations.
