PhlebotomistThe phlebotomist will assist in performing various duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. The role includes specimen collection, processing, and ensuring the integrity of samples.Responsibilities:Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.Decontaminate equipment and update patient information.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly to patients.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to address inquiries.Essential Skills:Proficiency in phlebotomy and blood draw techniques.Experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Customer service skills.Knowledge of CPT and medical procedures.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, if required.High School Diploma or GED.2 years of relevant experience.Job Type & Location:This is a Contract to Hire position based out of High Point, NC.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
