This role is available in any of Mayer Brown's US offices.The Senior Analyst: Client Pricing is responsible for the development of creative and workable pricing solutions in response to client demands, that align fees with the value provided to and the objectives of the client, while remaining consistent with Firm’s strategy and profitability goals.ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:Leads the creation, evaluation, and execution of client fee arrangements with the objective of driving improvement in the Firm’s pricing outcomes and profitabilityUndertakes detailed financial analysis in relation to and in support of the development of pricing alternatives in response to client request/RFPsAssesses the profitability and market competitiveness of the various pricing options and provide related insight and recommendations to Partners & Management.Works directly with Firm Partners and Pricing Team members to develop rates, alternative fee arrangements, fee estimates, matter budgets and pricing options in response to client RFPs and ad-hoc requests and facilitates approval of sameApplies business acumen and analytical skills to develop pricing solutions that meet both client and Firm objectivesUtilizes technology like Foundation Scoping and Harvey AI to assist in RFP proposalsDevelops strong understanding of practice group economicsWorks with Attorneys, Practice Groups, Business Development personnel and Pricing team to draft the financial and pricing components of client RFP submissionsInputs RFP opportunities into matter planning software and follows-up on status of RFPsConducts detailed post matter financial analysis with the aim of utilizing historical matter data and related insight to assist in the pricing of future matters and improving financial performanceDevelops and maintains budget templates and other tools for use by Partners and Pricing and Legal Project Management teamSupports the development of detailed competitor analysis and associated database and bring to bear in development of client fee arrangementsWorks with Pricing Management and broader Pricing & Legal Project Management team on the enhancements of technologies, tools and processes in relation to pricing, matter estimates, matter profitability, post matter analysis and competitor intelligenceCollaborates and provides training in department tools and processes to the broader Pricing & Legal Project Management team, Business Development and other departments at the Firm Leverages artificial intelligence tools and machine learning models to automate pricing, extract insights from large datasets, and enhance decision-making processes across key business functionsBuilds new dashboards in Power BI, highlighting key pricing and financial metricsPerforms other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectivesQualifications, Experience and Personal AttributesEducation/Training/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, IT or Business-related fieldProfessional Experience: Minimum of five years of related experience, requiredPrior experience in professional services pricing, negotiations and related areas, preferredPrior experience of working within professional services organization or law firm, preferredTechnical Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS-Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, required Experience using Microsoft Power BI & Microsoft SQL is highly preferred Experience with law firm technology such as Foundation Scoping, Iridium, Aderant Expert, BigHand, and other matter planning software, preferredPerformance Traits: Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendorsAbility to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the FirmDemonstrated comprehensive knowledge of rate structures, discount arrangements and alternative fee arrangementsCreative thinker and comes up with new ideas to help the pricing teamAbility to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting prioritiesFlexibility to adjust work schedule according to workload demandsMust be a self-starter with a high level of initiativeStrong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs and exercise independent judgmentStrong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretionExercises solid strategic thinking and problem-solving skillsStrong technical and analytical skillsThis description is not exhaustive, and the Firm may modify it at any time at its sole discretion;
