Certified Medical Dosimetrist

**About the Role** The Medical Dosimetrist is an exempt, professional and a member of the radiation oncology team who has knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment, is cognizant of procedures commonly used in brachytherapy and has the education and expertise necessary to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist.**What You’ll Be Doing** Supervises, performs, or assists in the planning/or the fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, molds, casts, other immobilization devices and other beam modifying devices.Performs routine duties independent of supervision, but consults with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required.Participates in continuing education in the area of current treatment planning techniques, and advances in medical dosimetry.Maintains compliance with all governmental and regulatory requirements. Maintains licensure and completes all continuing education requirements.Performs all other duties as assigned. Two or more years of experience is preferred. **Reasoning Ability** Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. **Computer Skills** To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This job operates in a professional office environment.
