Property Accountant

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Property Accountant in the real estate industry. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records and reporting for our various properties. You will play a vital role in monitoring and analyzing financial data, preparing budgets, and providing financial advice to management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Asset Managers and Property Managers to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for multiple properties, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
• Review vendor invoices and ensure timely payment.
• Analyze and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations to management.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes for each property
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirements
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns for properties

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proven experience in property accounting or real estate finance
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Experience using Real Page is preferred but not required
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors or discrepancies
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
