The California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI) operates year-round from our main campus in San Luis Obispo and training sites across the state. We deliver over 100 specialized courses covering emergency management, officer safety, terrorism response, hazardous materials, disaster recovery, fire and rescue, and crisis communications - equipping first responders and emergency personnel with the skills they need when every second counts. CSTI is seeking a driven and detail oriented Analyst II to serve as our primary Administrative and Support Services Analyst, supporting effective and efficient training programs and facility operations that support California's emergency response community.As the Administrative & Support Services Analyst, you will independently perform complex and varied analytical staff services work, including:
- Procurement: Managing purchasing activities, ensuring CSTI has the supplies and resources needed for smooth training operations.
- Contracts: Coordinating and overseeing contract processes to support CSTI's programs and facility needs.
- Training Program Coordination: Organizing course logistics, collaborating with instructors and students, and ensuring training delivery is consistent, efficient, and high quality.
- Administrative Policy Implementation: Applying and maintaining administrative policies, ensuring CSTI follows state guidelines and best practices.
- Records Management: Overseeing the organization, retention, and security of CSTI records.
In Office : This position supports and manages the day-to-day business operations for Cal OES which is handled in an office location. This is not considered a hybrid telework position. DMV Pull Program: Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver's License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. The Planning, Preparedness, and Prevention Directorate develops and maintains statewide plans and planning guidance for local emergency management, state agencies, and tribal governments, including specialized programs for radiological preparedness, dam safety, seismic hazards, and earthquake early warning. This directorate also includes the California Specialized Training Institute which provides exercise support and courses in emergency management, hazardous materials response, criminal justice/officer safety, fire & rescue, and crisis communications. In the event of an emergency, employees may be contacted and requested to report to work in the event of an emergency. This contact may be outside of your normal working hours (evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays). This service may require irregular work hours, work locations other than the official duty location, and may include duties other than those specified in your official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and you may be required to relocate to emergency sites.
