Medical Billing Specialist

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Medical Billing Specialist will post medical charges and payments, verify insurance information, and manage claims processing in a hybrid work environment. Key responsibilities Post medical charges, payments, and journal entries to patient accounts accurately and timely Verify insurance filing information and follow up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper processing Required qualifications Experience in medical billing and charge entry Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO/PPO, Medicare, and state Medicaid Familiarity with electronic remittance advice (ERA) and explanation of benefits (EOB) Ability to handle protected health information in compliance with HIPAA Credentialing knowledge is a plus
