RN Labor and Delivery Postpartum

The Labor & Delivery Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. This role involves comprehensive patient assessments, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective maternal and newborn care. The RN must demonstrate expertise in obstetrics with at least 2 years of experience, maintaining certifications such as BLS, ACLS, NRP, and intermediate AWHONN. The position primarily covers night shifts with on-call responsibilities. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor maternal and fetal well-being.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide continuous patient coverage.

• Current Montana RN license or qualifying compact license.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum nursing.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• Intermediate AWHONN certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities.

• Experience with night shift nursing in obstetrics.
• Additional certifications related to maternal and newborn care.

• On-call responsibilities with 6-8 call shifts per 6-week schedule.
• Primarily night shifts with occasional day coverage.
• Maximum of 4 shifts per week unless mutually agreed upon.
• No guaranteed block scheduling or consistent weekends off.

• 36-48 hours per week.
• Primarily night shifts with some occasional day shifts.
• Shift assignments and call schedules determined by the OB Manager.
