Associate Data Engineer

General Summary:


The Associate Data Engineer supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of data solutions, software applications, APIs, data pipelines, automation tools, and AI/ML technologies. This role collaborates with technical and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable solutions that support analytics, reporting, business applications, and operational
needs. Responsibilities include supporting data integration, automation, and cloud-based technologies while adhering to established standards for quality, security, and data governance.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities
* Support organizational and performance-related initiatives by identifying operational challenges and opportunities for improvement across competitive, scheduling, and resource-related activities.
* Collect, organize, and maintain data from a variety of sources, including internal databases, historical performance records, operational systems, financial data, and stakeholder input.
* Work closely with managers, coaches, and other subject-matter experts to understand workflows, constraints, and operational objectives, and to ensure analyses reflect real world conditions.
* Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and performance drivers relevant to operational efficiency and strategic planning.
* Apply quantitative and analytical techniques to support planning and evaluation efforts, including basic forecasting, comparative analysis, and scenario assessment.
* Assist in the development, testing, and use of analytical models and tools that support decision-making related to performance optimization, scheduling, and resource allocation.
* Evaluate alternative approaches or strategies by comparing outcomes, risks, and tradeoffs using data-driven methods.
* Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to managers and other stakeholders in a clear and practical manner.
* Provide ongoing analytical support by updating analyses, monitoring outcomes, and refining assumptions as new data becomes available.
* Contribute to cross-functional projects by supplying data analysis and operational insights that support broader organizational goals.
* Adhere to the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures. *
* Understand relevant security, privacy, and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the Company. *
* Ensure other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures. *
* Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:


Minimum education and experience:


* Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or related field with 1+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience


Additional qualifications:


* Master's degree preferred
* Prior work experience or internships in data science, data analysis, or a related area is a plus.
* Proficiency in Python for automation, API interaction, and rapid prototyping.
* Strong SQL skills.
* Familiarity with prompt engineering, basic NLP/Regex techniques, and foundational ML algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, and decision trees).
* Hands-on experience with Generative AI (GenAI) tools.
* Experience with Azure AI Studio, including configuring resources, deploying models, and fine-tuning.
* Proactive approach to learning and applying new techniques and tools in real-world projects.
* Strong critical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and analytical skills.
* Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments while handling various projects simultaneously

Working Conditions
General office environment. Willingness and ability to work on site. Requires some lifting and moving of up to 10 pounds. Must be able to move between buildings and floors. Must be able to remain stationary and use a computer or other standard office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine, for an extensive period of time each day. Must be able to read, prepare emails, and produce documents and spreadsheets. Must be able to move within the office and access file cabinets or supplies, as needed. Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.


Annual Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $131,000/ year
We offer a competitive compensation package plus a benefits and equity program, when applicable.
Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
